ENV 506- Advanced Wastewater Treatment

Improved techniques for the characterization of wastewaters-Unit processes of advanced biological wastewater treatment – trickling filter- activated sludge system – attached growth systems- stabilization and aerated lagoon systems,(bio solids) digestion and disposal- nutrient and phosphorus residual organics removal, and anaerobic treatment systems. Implementation of several newer treatment technologies (UV disinfection, membrane filtration, and heat drying)-Concern for the long-term health and environmental impacts of reuse of wastewater constituents-Emphasis on advanced wastewater treatment and risk assessment for water reuse applications.

The course gives the understanding of the
unified approach to solve problems involving transport of momentum, energy and mass in the research field of energy engineering.
